The aperitivo hour begins at 16:00 upstairs at the Bistrot, spritzes and sober serves poured from The Afternoon Manifest, and proceeds at 17:00 downstairs, where Bespoke 1837 opens its book.
Our signature bar snacks are served in both rooms, made to be shared beside a drink.
Two rooms, one hour
At the Bistrot the afternoon list is The Afternoon Manifest: The Citadel, a limoncello spritz twist on preserved lemon, noomi basra and chamomile, and The Garden, a Hugo twist on fermented cucumber, elderflower, house aquavit and seaweed. The Pickled Cucumber Sour keeps the sober hours company.
Come 17:00 the hour moves down to Bespoke 1837, where the list is written like a book, The Bitter Trade among its chapters, a selection of negronis served as a flight.
A precise programme, worn lightly
The drinks are precise and worn lightly: the house drink «1837», cognac, coffee and "brunost" caramel in a pale blue coupe, served with a small chocolate key, or the White Umami Lady, gin with clarified tomato water and Norwegian strawberry.
Quiet showmanship over empty flair, which is the bar's whole argument. We will gladly hold a table for a larger group.
